With my many years of experience of inspecting vehicles and interacting with vehicle owners, i've seen that quietly some owners are not aware of the year of production of their vehicle, some reason they don't know are for the fact that car dealers usually lie to them about the year as some dealers even go as far as scraping off the year on the name plate to hide certain information expecially the year from their buyers.
All vehicles have a DNA I mean their VIN- Vehicle Identification Number attached to them which is so distinct of another, the VIN covers all the information about the production of the vehicle namely the
-plant of production
-Country of production
-Year of production
And so on.
Meanwhile there are quite a number of places that reveals the VIN.
1. Driver side of the windshield
2. Pillar B (driver side)
3. Cowl panel firewall
5. Doors, bonnet and booth.
The 10th number of most vehicles is the year of manufacture of such car as some of them are written as 4,5,6 meaning 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively while those who exceeds 2009 have theirs as
And so on and of course the latest as J which stands as 2019.
